Our Varsity Girls Volleyball team had its first two home games in our new gym this week, the first against the Palm Beach Central Broncos. The Broncos put up a fight Wednesday, and we lost three sets to one. However, the Cougars were able to come together and defeat the Boynton Beach Community Tigers the next night in an intense three-hour-long game, with the spectators sitting on the edge of their seats.

The Cougars started strong, winning the first set, but the Tigers fought long and hard for the second win of the night. The next two sets followed suit, with Cougars winning the third and Tigers winning the fourth. The last set ended with Chinelo Eruchalu (#18) serving the winning point, but the game couldn’t have been won if it wasn’t for everyone’s hard work and persistence.

During the middle of the fourth set, tensions were high until the lights mysteriously turned off, leaving nothing but the scoreboard lights to illuminate the court. This gave both teams time to take a much needed break.
