Paralyzed

You ever have that feeling someone is watching you? Well if you have, you can brush it off like it’s nothing, but have you really thought about who it could be? You want to diversify your feelings so you won’t have to think about it. The creepiest feeling is when you’re asleep and you feel a presence is with you. You wake up and see a figure standing in the corner of your room staring at you with bright red eyes and it gives a very creepy chuckle but during this situation, you can’t move a muscle. Something like sleep paralysis. It’s like you can feel something invisible pressing down on your body, and your chest feels a burning sensation, like it’s being mauled by a grizzly bear. The figure slowly starts walking towards you and you can feel your eyes watering because you’re so terrified of whatever that thing is that you wish is was just a dream!

It walks closer and you close your eyes, then you hear a voice… your voice. “You’re really scared of yourself, huh?, it says with a small chuckle. Your eyes open to you staring at yourself. “How-” you start speaking, but get cut off. “I’m you, but the side of you that you always want to keep away by thinking that everything is missiles of glitter shooting in the sky with balloons floating everywhere, like it’s a party, dancing the tango and eating candy!” It scoffs and walks around your room. “I’m the darkest part of your soul that you’ve kept in a birdcage for way too long!” it says seriously and stops staring at you.

You can’t speak, think, or even breathe because the level of anxiety you have in your body is on overload. All you can do is listen and watch as painful as it is. “Now”, it sighs happily and walks back to you placing its finger on your chest, “I’m here to stay.” Then it goes pitch black and you sit up quickly, gasping for air, and you feel your chest. You get up stumbling out of bed and run to the bathroom, turning on the light. Seeing a red hand print, you feel a rush of terror crawling under your skin. This isn’t just something you just blog about, it’s a situation like if you scuff your shoe and you can’t get the mark off. You realize… that the only real thing you need to be afraid of… is yourself.
