Beauty trends change every week, whether it is squiggly eyebrows or blending your foundation with a taco.  Yes, that did actually happen on Instagram, but what has been an extremely big trend is going natural from hair to wearing make up to wearing no makeup. People, lately, have been taking skin care very seriously because as much fun as it is to do makeup, it takes up a lot of time.  I, personally, love make up, but to do it every day is adding another 30-45 minutes to my schedule in the morning.

Recently, there have been some skin care products that have become popular.  They are also all natural products, so some people think that it is better to use more simple products because you avoid using a bunch of other chemicals on your face or body.  Please be aware if you try out any of these products to do a patch test before proceeding to use it full time; this will help you see if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

African Black Soap:

This has been one of the most talked about face and body soaps because of how good it works on many skin types.  The black soap originates from the people of Nigeria and Ghana, who have used it to wash their bodies for body odors.  Be careful because some brands do add extra chemicals to the bar.

Benefits:

-Fades discoloration over time while evening out your skin tone.

-Soothes skin irritations and diseases.

They also have black soap shampoo which cleanses the scalp and is also known to soothe and itchy scalp and irritations.  You can find this at any beauty supply store or on Amazon.

Witch Hazel:

Witch Hazel is an all-natural plant that was discovered from Native Americans.  They used it for many medical reasons, such as ulcers or sores.  The plant physically had many benefits for your skin and body.  The toner is very gentle on the skin and helps with irritation, bug bites, poison ivy, and more.  You can get this from Walmart or Target.

Benefits:

-Evens out skin tone

-Controls oil production on the skin

-Tightens and shrinks pores

-Removes everyday dirt

Tea Tree Oil:

Tea tree oil originates from North-East Australia.  The tea tree plant is toxic when eaten, but when put into anything cosmetic, it has a lower concentration.  This helps skin conditions, lice, dandruff, acne, and more.  You can also get this at Walmart or Target.

Benefits:

-Removes makeup

-Helps kill acne bacteria

Wish I could fit more, but next week will be about make up trends and even more skin care products!
