This past January, 15 of our 19 Middle School Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) competitors, with the guidance of Ms. Scott, placed in the top 3 and qualified for states in their respective medical events. As part of Somerset’s HOSA program, the club incorporates medical studies in a supportive and interactive environment,  leaving students more prepared for their future due to the valuable skills the program reinforces. More importantly, the program gives students the opportunity to develop their expertise in areas such as teamwork, public speaking, and leadership.

When asked what  HOSA means to her, Ana Maria Castenada, the president of the HOSA chapter at Somerset, responded, “HOSA is a group of brilliant people ready to face the future who go the extra mile to learn, work as a team, help the school, and educate the public.”
