Autumn – A Poem

Michael McNeill, Design Editor

Autumn is the kind of friend

You miss when she is gone,

Leaving nothing but empty trees

And piles upon your lawn.

She always wraps you in her blanket

Of cinnamon sugar and spice;

Nothing can compare

To her comforting paradise.

The slight chill in the air

Is the perfect kind of weather

For opening your doors

And bringing families together.

Tiny kids running in the street

For sweets and candy galore.

One by one, they come on by

For what we all adore.

So, when Autumn comes knocking,

Go and let her in.

Though you can’t see her around,

Her spirit lies within.
