On Monday afternoon, September 24th, a car accident occurred near Hagen Road Elementary School on the intersection of Hagen and Woolbright. Two lives were claimed by the crash: a 78-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman who both lived in Boynton Beach.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff office plans to keep people updated on the incident. Right before 12:30 pm, investigators were called. The two cars were a 2015 four-door Honda and a 2006 Mack truck.

Although everyone was wearing seat belts, both victims still died, while another driver only received minor injuries.

A local 5th grader of the school says, “The only thing that changed was we were dismissed a different way.” The student thinks it can be prevented by expanding the school speed limit zones. Another thing that could resolve it is a speed radar to make sure this is prevented in the future.

The accident caused traffic to build up until the investigation was completed at the scene.
