Sixth Grade Geeks out for Greek Day
Somerset Canyons recently held the 5th annual Greek day with sixth graders. Greek day included city state chants along with various Greek mythology games.
The groups of students were divided into Greek culture city states which include Athens, Megara, Sparta, and Argos. Sparta’s chant lead Ms. Lynn’s first period class to victory.
Ms. Lynn stated “My first period class worked very hard to win the chant and that winning was very rewarding.” There was a Greek play produced by Itai Rotem and performed by the third period drama class in the gym.
At the end of the day, a Greek lunch was served which included pita bread with hummus Greek salad, fruit, Hors Dervores and more. Sixth grader Enrique Maxwell said, “I had a great time on Greek Day.”
