Nintendo, the creator of the popular Mario Kart video game franchise, has finally announced that it is going to release another installment titled Mario Kart Tour for smartphones!

Recently at an investor presentation, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima said, “We plan to release a smart-device application from the ‘Mario Kart’ franchise, ‘Mario Kart Tour,’ during the next financial year (from April 2018 to March 2019). We will announce further details at a later date.”

While the company has not said much on the subject, the game is currently in development. It also appears that it will not be a part of the main series.
